My name is Lydia. I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Communications at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and I received my PhD in Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I do both sociolinguistic and discourse analytic work and my research focuses on how people use and understand language in relation to space-time and migration.
